For many in our community, a past conviction continues to cast a long shadow—even after the sentence has been served. Studies show that 95% of people with convictions live with the barriers tied to their records for life. These barriers restrict access to housing, employment, education, and even the right to vote. The weight of a conviction often locks individuals out of opportunities to fully rebuild their lives.
But there is hope. The 2026 Expungement Clinics, hosted in partnership with local organizations and community leaders, are designed to open doors and restore opportunities for those ready to move forward.
What Is an Expungement Clinic?
An expungement clinic is a free, community-driven event where individuals can get legal help clearing eligible charges from their records. Volunteer attorneys, legal advocates, and partner agencies come together to guide participants through the expungement process—something that is often too complicated or too expensive to pursue alone.
By attending, participants can take concrete steps toward a brighter future, free from the stigma of a criminal record.

Why This Matters
Expungement is more than a legal process—it’s a lifeline. By clearing a record, individuals gain access to:
Employment opportunities that were once closed to them
Safe and stable housing for themselves and their families
The right to vote, strengthening civic engagement
A renewed sense of dignity and purpose
Every person deserves the chance to move beyond their past and build a better future. These clinics are here to make that possible.
